Year in Review – 2024

This year, our chapter didn’t just grow, it flourished. And it’s all thanks to you!
Every event we hosted, every initiative we launched, and every connection we strengthened was fuelled by the extraordinary energy and commitment of our members, volunteers, and leaders. You’ve made 2024 a year to remember!
Our chapter grew to 226 members this year, strengthening our international community. We hosted 9 events that connected 853 participants, and 13 training sessions that helped 126 attendees improve their skills. Our reach also expanded, with 3,026 followers on LinkedIn and 14,665 readers of our newsletter. All were made possible by the generous support of 48 sponsors and the hard work of 70 volunteers.
The EASA Europe, Asia & Africa Chapter continued to build on its tradition of impactful events while introducing fresh initiatives and new projects that reflected the spirit and teamwork of our community.
We celebrated the third edition of key events, like the one-week Digital Coffee Meetings, which saw record participation and focused on 2024 industry trends. The CWIEME Berlin Conference also offered valuable opportunities for networking and knowledge-sharing before attending the fair. The EASA Get Together Event in Dubai, now in its second year, explored how the motor and generator repair industry can improve the Middle East’s power system while creating important business and technical connections.
The Motor Club event, held in Belgium this year in partnership with BEMAS, gathered together users, service providers, and academics to exchange ideas, improve operations, and explore new approaches to motor systems.
Our Annual Chapter Convention in Porto, the highlight of the year, brought 158 participants from 84 companies across 28 countries. It was a time to share knowledge, address common challenges, and strengthen our community bonds. During this event, we also unveiled the Reimagine Engineering: Be Part of the Change video, developed by the Apprenticeship Working Group and the EASA EAA Team. This project aims to help EASA members attract new talent, inspire the next generation of professionals, and showcase the exciting opportunities within our industry.
We closed the year with the Motors Congress in Paris, which introduced a new event format proposed by our members. Held at the EDF Lab Paris-Saclay, this 100% French-speaking event brought together 136 participants to discuss the future of motor maintenance, repair, and testing. The event demonstrated the power of collaboration within EASA, turning shared ideas into a dynamic and valuable experience for our members.
Additionally, we released the Ex Course Booklet, covering the Repair and Overhaul of Electrical Equipment (Rotating Electrical Machines) in compliance with IEC EN 60079-19 standards. This serves as a concise reference guide for participants of our Ex Atmosphere Repair and Overhaul training course.
Last but not least, we hosted a series of technical webinars, free for our members.
These initiatives highlight EASA’s commitment to supporting innovation, professional growth, and meaningful connections across the industry while showcasing the strength of our community.
EASA is not just an association, it’s a community driven by members, for members. Your insights, energy, and dedication are what make everything we do possible. Together, we’ve strengthened businesses, built lasting partnerships, and created opportunities for everyone to succeed.
