Highlights 1 Week EASA Digital Coffee Meetings 2025

With 128 participants from 75 companies across 35 countries, the 1 Week Digital Coffee Meetings once again provided a valuable platform for discussing industry trends, sharing expertise, and connecting with peers. These sessions engaged professionals across different levels and departments, fostering collaboration and broadening perspectives.

The event opened with an EASA Updates session led by the EASA9 Team, presenting new opportunities, resources, and upcoming activities. This provided attendees with first-hand insights into EASA’s latest initiatives. Later, the focus shifted to Industry Trends & Market Insights 2025, where participants engaged in an open discussion on the Business Survey Results. This session allowed members to analyze key industry shifts and exchange strategies for navigating future challenges and opportunities.

Tuesday featured a marketing session led by Marie-Claude Rasendra and Chiara Girardi from the E9 Marketing Committee, focusing on the difference between marketing and communication and the importance of having a structured strategy for business growth. The afternoon continued with the Technical Forum, where EASA experts shared key industry insights and best practices.

The discussions continued with a focus on attracting and developing top talent. Jon Burton shared the results of their apprenticeship program, which has successfully integrated 120 apprentices (20% of the workforce) over the past decade, addressing industry skill shortages. Neil Gallant shared best practices and tips on how to leverage strategic talent attraction through the recently launched Reimagine Engineering EASA video campaign. while Bjørn Eirik Mjåtveit explored the EASA training program – specialized training for members, by members – designed to support apprentices and new employees through structured education and development.

The afternoon session covered motor performance optimization, with our main sponsor Menzel presenting “An Electric Motor Is Only as Good as Its Design”, followed by an Ex Repair Clinic, where our top Trainer Martin Killeen led a discussion about best practices in EX motors repairs.

The event closed with an insightful session from Kirk Belian on Sustainability: Different Visions Based on Geographical Location. The discussion emphasized how collaboration and knowledge-sharing among regions can drive global progress in energy efficiency and sustainability. A key takeaway was the crucial role of electric motor consumption in making a difference in sustainable practices.

The success of this year’s Digital Coffee Meetings was made possible by the engagement of participants, speakers, and the E9 Committees. Their contributions continue to foster valuable discussions and industry development.
