EASA9 Annual Review 2022

It has been an eventful year for our EASA Chapter, so we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some of the major milestones and new initiatives of the past year, and to look ahead to some of the highlights that await us in the year ahead.

Let’s start with our signature piece, the Chapter’s annual Convention we held in Athens from the 6th to the 8th of October 2022. The program was outstanding, the attendance the highest ever (115 participants from 70 companies located in 27 Countries) and the unique atmosphere! We ended the Convention on a high note as for the first time ever a woman, Elena Bocheva from ELIN Engineering Ltd Bulgaria, has been awarded the EASA Karsten Moholt Exceptional Achievement Award 2022.

During the year we have formed several key partnerships, including one with a major winding fair in the world, namely CWIEME- Berlin. We strongly believe this kind of collaboration is essential to increase the prestige and influence of our important organization and we are proud to announce that we will strengthen this collaboration in 2023.

In addition, on the 9th of May, we held in Berlin the “CWIEME Berlin Conference & Networking”, a get-together event aimed at learning from each other, starting great businesses and technical connections before attending the fair. The event was attended by 50 executives and managers from 18 Countries.

At the beginning of the year we launched a new digital format that features 1 daily session for an entire week of P2P discussions, the “1 week EASA Digital Coffee meetings”, which received incredibly positive feedback from our Members. Each session was attended by 52/36 executives and managers from 32 Countries across all 5 Continents. This can be regarded as a great outcome, as it was the first time we proposed this new format, and that is the reason we will replicate it: the 2023 edition will take place from 13th to 17th February.

Moreover, we have offered several digital events, technical workshops, webinars and business forums: 2 Motors Clubs (one in March in collaboration with AFIM  and another one in November in Belgium, together with BEMAS and with support from Ghent University); and 10 training courses with hundreds of participants, in order to continue providing educational and informative content tailored to meet our Members’ needs.

Our 6 EASA top experts continue to provide unique support. This year they have received more than 600 emails from our Chapter members with questions ranging from diagnosis, process, and references to data and regulation, but also Ex Repairs and maintenance.

Our dynamic professional association is increasing its influence in our region, and EASA industry-specific network has never been thus effective, valuable, and recognized by strategic stakeholders.

We are very proud to work with many of the best companies and professionals in our industry and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our 204 chapter Members, our volunteers (Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Members) who serve our organization on a daily basis, and our sponsors for their crucial support.

We look forward to sharing a busy and successful 2023 with you all!
